Hey everyone, got yet another quick question, and this one might not be so quick. Im lookin to get all my characters good hero setups for their specific types of builds. Right now, all my heroes have builds, but they stay the same for all of my characters. So I have a warrior, sin, rit, necro, and monk, and lookin to make a para. is there certain heroes that should use certain builds depending on what kind of character im using? if so, please post your thoughts or pm me in game at King Beamer

Sure. It's all up to your own discretion. But if you're playing a melee character, for example an assassin, you might be benefited by fitting a hero with Strength of Honor. This wouldn't be of any help if you're running a caster. Most hero builds are independent, so to speak. This means that they can be ran in any party. But modifying builds to suit your party composition's specific needs can never hurt.

The word would be "could" not "should". There are very few instances in GW where you "should" use a particular build, but you always "could" use some changes. I often set my hero's builds around my own so that they either compliment or enhance the overall group. In some cases, I would bring along different heroes depending upon my own build or, of course, the particular task at hand.

A rit with splinter weapon would be you friend then. Something along the lines of:

Splinter weapon
Signet of spirits
bloodsong
painfulbond
spirit siphon
optional

Be willing and able to modify YOUR build and your hero builds OFTEN. Various quests/missions will present different enemies to deal with, and different environmental effects. Taking the same setup each time may not work. For example, you may take a Warrior using a Triple Chop build to deal with a mission like D'Allasio Seaboard with lots of undead. So taking a Smite hero along with Strength of Honor and Smite Condition/Hex, etc. would help a lot. But if you took that same setup to deal with heavy Necro/Mez monster groups that have Corrupt/Shatter/Rip/etc. Enchantment, the S&H will hurt more than help.

Saving various builds for quick swapping is best, and using different heroes of the same class for different roles helps with runes/weapons. So you could take 1 Monk for Healing, 1 for Protection, and 1 for Smite. Then hybridize them as needed, but have a weapon/rune setup for a specific purpose.

Outside of rare locations I'd recommend an MM Necro, heal+prot hybrid Monk, and interrupt Mez/Ranger. Hench usually suffice for a second Monk and damage, but it all depends on what you are doing and what your play style is.

In short, there is no easy answer, learn to adapt.
